Someone shot out the windows of two cars with a pellet gun Monday night in Crystal Lake, authorities said.

Crystal Lake police were dispatched about 7:30 p.m. to an apartment complex at 205 Marion Parkway for a report of possible shots fired, Deputy Police Chief Derek Hyrkas said.

Officers investigating the scene learned no one in the neighborhood had heard shots fired and discovered pellets in two cars with broken windows, Hyrkas said. There is no suspect at this time, and police still are interviewing neighbors and anyone who might have witnessed the incident.

Hyrkas said anyone with information can contact the Crystal Lake Police Department at 815-356-3620 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-762-7867.
