Two people were taken to the hospital Wednesday afternoon after a pickup truck rear-ended a motorcycle near Marengo, authorities said.

About 12:30 p.m., the motorcycle pulled up to the intersection of Route 23 and Grange Road and stopped. As the driver waited to make a turn, a driver in a pickup truck rear-ended the motorcycle, Marengo Fire Protection District Assistant Chief John Kimmel said.

After the crash, the pickup truck rolled into Route 23, where a second truck rear-ended the pickup, Kimmel said.

The two people on the motorcycle were taken to Centegra Hospital – Huntley with injuries Kimmel described as “not life-threatening.”
