The Environmental Defenders of McHenry County will be hosting a recycling drive from 9 a.m. to noon Sept. 8 at City Hall, 201 W. Diggins St., Harvard.
Electronics will carry a fee of 50 cents a pound and go as high as $50 for a TV or monitor. Fluorescent tubes and compact fluorescent lamps will carry a fee of 50 cents to $1.
Batteries will have a fee no higher than 50 cents a pound. Automotive, motorcycle and sump pump batteries will be taken for free.
Other items accepted will be clean Styrofoam, packing peanuts, bubble wrap, metals, CDs, DVDs, VHS or cassette tapes, fabrics and textiles.
No hazardous waste or large appliances will be accepted.
