A crash in Richmond involving a semitrailer and SUV left a telephone pole snapped in half, authorities said.

About 1 p.m. Friday, the Richmond Township Fire Protection District was called to a patch of road near Route 173 and Keystone Road, Lt. Chris Gumm said.

A semitruck collided with an SUV and broke a telephone pole, Gumm said. No one was injured in the crash.

The crash caused the road to close for two hours while crews cleaned up the downed pole and fuel that had spilled from the truck onto the road, Gumm said.

It was not known Friday afternoon whether anyone had been charged.

The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office could not be reached for comment.
