The Environmental Defenders of McHenry County will host its annual fall book sale beginning this weekend at the Algonquin Township offices, 3702 Route 14, Crystal Lake.
The event will be from 10 a.m. to
4 p.m. Saturday through Oct. 6, and from 8 a.m. to noon Oct. 7. The sale will be closed Sunday and Sept. 29 and 30.
A members-only preview sale will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday.
The event is free for members of the nonprofit and $10 for nonmembers.
An end-of-sale bag sale will take place from Oct. 4 to 7.
A variety of books will be available – everything from kids books to popular fiction, science to biography and everything in between.
Donations of resellable books are accepted year-round at the Environmental Defenders’ Green Spot Used Book store on the main floor of the Woodstock Square Mall.
Proceeds from the sale benefit the Environmental Defenders of McHenry County, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation and improvement of the environment. The group provides community residents with educational programs and volunteer action on a variety of conservation and environmental matters.
Donations – which are tax deductible as charitable contributions – are encouraged.
