Man killed crossing Randall Road

A 38-year-old man was struck and killed Sunday morning while crossing Randall Road, according to the Crystal Lake Police Department.

The man was a resident of Mahomet.

A preliminary investigation revealed that about 12:36 a.m., the man was crossing Randall Road near Angela Lane when he was struck by a Toyota Tacoma traveling north on Randall Road. The driver was a 27-year-old resident of Crystal Lake, according to a media release.

After the initial collision, the pedestrian was struck again by another vehicle.

The second vehicle was a Dodge Charger driven by a 54-year-old resident of Crystal Lake who also was traveling north on Randall Road, police said.

The incident is under investigation by the Crystal Lake Accident Investigation Team and the McHenry County Coroner’s Office.

Investigators are asking anyone with information regarding the incident to call the Crystal Lake Police Department at 815-356-3620.  

No additional information was available Sunday.
