To the Editor:
The people who want you to vote yes on the McHenry Township issue are fooling you!
The issue is written on the ballot to confuse the voter and will cost us money in the long run.The loss of our road commissioner will cause confusion and a need to replace supervisory personnel to cover planning, three shifts of help during bad weather, or construction.
It's not logical to replace a well-educated, degree-bearing engineer with part-time employees.
Everyone wants to save money, but the people who planned this move did not read or perhaps understand township law. Dtate law provides for the end of a township. As cities grow, townships shrink and go away!
This proposition is a thinly disguised effort to disrupt low-cost, balanced, township government. Vote no on township highway department consolidation until calmer, smarter heads are available or just working.
