McHENRY’S HAUNTED HAYRIDE

HAUNTED HAYRIDE, 7 to 10:30 p.m. Oct. 12-13 and Oct. 19-20, Petersen Park, 4311 Lakewood Road, McHenry. Henry Deadwood and his character of friends have been awaiting this year’s opening night for 12 long months. They are creeping around, lurking about and hiding within the forested area of Deadwood Forest (known the rest of the year as Peterson Park). Their appearance each October is as mystifying as their disappearance. Free parking. Refreshments available. Tickets: $8. Come out to celebrate this fascinating transitional time of year with free family-friendly activities, horse-drawn wagon rides, arts and crafts, games, and puppet shows.
