To the Editor:
Abortion, a very controversial topic, generally gets people riled up. With Judge Brett Kavanaugh becoming a Supreme Court justice, some are in a panic over whether he would overturn Roe v. Wade. So, in turn, this topic is heating up.
I am technically pro-life because my point of view is that abortion should be legal in certain circumstances.
First, just be responsible – when you are having sex, use contraceptives. Contraceptives are cheap and very easy to get because at Planned Parenthood, you can get the pill for $0 to $50. Condoms you can buy in bulk cheaply. For example, 100 count of Trojans cost $40.
In addition to being responsible, when someone has sex, they are making an adult decision with the chance of life-altering complications. So if sexual intercourse is going to be had, the person making this decision is fully aware of the risks, and they should take all preventive measures possible.
As a comparison, when someone drives a car they know that they have the chance of getting into a car crash, but they take as many measures as possible so that crashes do not occur. When someone is driving a car, they wear a seat belt and follow the rules of the road, but they know the risk and don’t expect their mistake to be erased from this world.
So just be responsible.
