Returned ring renews CL man's faith in fellows
To the Editor:
On Saturday, October 6, my wife and I went shopping at several shops here in Crystal Lake.
When we returned home after many hours I realized my military service ring had fallen off my finger. The ring would have very little street value, but was very special to me as it was based on the unique, very high distinctive assignment it was awarded for.
We never thought we would ever see it again. Phone calls and visits to some of the shops we had visited were fruitless.
Our last hope was the Jewel-Osco store in Crystal Lake. Upon asking the lady at the customer service desk if a ring had been turned in, she asked if it had a red stone. I was speechless as I knew it had been found.
Unfortunately, the name of the finder was not known. I am writing this note to thank that person. He or she renewed my faith in mankind and proved that miracles do happen.
