To the Editor:
Thank you, Northwest Herald. Your Oct. 11 story did a great job of highlighting this week’s visit by the Yale Spizzwinks, which will culminate with a public concert at 7 p.m. Saturday at Willow Creek Community Church, 100 S. Main St., Crystal Lake. Our son, Aidan O’Connor (Prairie Ridge High School Class of 2016), sings in the group, and he is especially proud to be bringing his fellow singers to Crystal Lake to show off his hometown.
While obviously a biased opinion, we think the Spizzwinks’ shows are fantastic. With an opening performance by Aidan’s former high school ensemble, Prairie Ridge’s A Cappella Choir, the concert will be a wonderful showcase of the arts both in and out of town. David Jensen, the choral director at Prairie Ridge, works tirelessly to prepare his students for musical endeavors beyond high school – as shown by the professional level his students perform at. A cappella aficionados, future singers and really anyone who appreciates quality music will find something to like watching these groups perform. We are hoping our “big, little town” comes out to support these fine singers Saturday night. Tickets still are available at spizzwinks.ticketbud.com/cl.
