High school football: Alden-Hebron closes out Judah Christian to reach 8-man final

Alden-Hebron’s problem over the past few games was an inability to close games out.

That was not an issue Saturday as the Giants scored four second-half touchdowns and defeated Judah Christian, 46-28, in a semifinal game of the Illinois 8-Man Football Association playoffs.

Quarterback Brad Judson ran for four touchdowns, threw for two and ran back a punt for another score as A-H (6-3) advanced to the championship game next week at Milford.

The Giants trailed, 22-20, at halftime, but Judson hit Gideon Schauer for an 11-yard touchdown, returned a punt 53 yards, then had two more scoring runs in the fourth quarter to put the game away.

Judson carried 20 times for 138 yards and Tomi Mor caught four passes for 60 yards and a touchdown. This is A-H’s second season playing eight-man football.

The championship game is set for 7 p.m. Friday in Milford.
