St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in McHenry is inviting all McHenry-area veterans to a special Veterans Day Mass at 10 a.m. Sunday.
The service will honor all veterans for their service. The Rev. Lori Lowe will officiate, and the Rev. William McLemore, who is retired from the U.S. Army, will preach. There will be a special reception after the service in the parish hall.
St. Paul’s has a long history of helping veterans, including providing housing for homeless veterans at Betts’ Place, a church-owned residence on the west side of McHenry, through Transitional Living Services for Veterans for several years.
The church also has supported TLS Veterans in its services in many ways over the years. It currently provides nonperishable food and paper products to TLS and its clients, and also participated in the McHenry Area Chamber of Commerce’s Veterans Expo at the McHenry Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4600 on Thursday.
All veterans, their families and other interested parties are welcome to attend the special service and the reception that follows Sunday at the church, 3706 W. St. Paul’s Ave., McHenry.
