10TH ANNUAL ART OF THE LAND ART SHOW & FUNDRAISER, 6:30 to 10 p.m. Nov. 9-10, Starline Factory, 300 W. Front St., Harvard. The Land Conservancy of McHenry County's biggest event of the year with all proceeds going to support land preservation in McHenry County. The event features two nights of art for sale, photography, People's Choice photo contest voting, raffle, live music, appetizers and cash bar. PANTING FOR PAWS 5K & 1-MILE FAMILY RUN/WALK, 7 to 11 a.m. Nov. 10, Lippold Park, 851 Route 176, Crystal Lake. Support the animals at Helping Paws Animal Shelter in Woodstock by signing up for the 12th annual family run/walk. All ages and fitness levels are encouraged and welcome to participate. BIRD WALK, 8 to 11 a.m. Nov. 10, McHenry Dam State Park, on McHenry Dam Road off South River Road, McHenry. Join the McHenry County Audubon and the Illinois Department of Natural Resources for a walk covering two to three miles over a variety of habitats. Adults and attentive children ages 6 and older are welcome. Meet at the south end of McHenry Dam parking lot. Bring your own binoculars or borrow one at the walk site. Bring a bird book. Free.
