Richmond police are looking for a man involved in a fight with a woman he offered a ride to in his SUV.

About 3:50 a.m. on Oct. 28, a woman was walking north on Route 12 near Burlington Road, where the man allegedly offered her a ride, according to a news release from the Richmond Police Department.

After she accepted the ride and got in the man’s SUV, the man drove a short distance, pulled onto a side street, and an altercation occurred, police said.

The woman exited the vehicle and called police.

The suspect is described as a man in his late 20s to early 40s with a short, dark beard. He’s bald or wears his hair short, standing between 5 feet 7 inches and 6 feet tall, police said.

At the time of the incident, the man was wearing a gray Starter brand hoodie sweatshirt, police said.

Authorities are asking anyone with information about the man or the incident to call the Richmond Police Department at 815-678-4163. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
