McHenry County clerk certifies midterm vote totals

McHenry County Clerk Mary McClellan sent official midterm votes totals to the Illinois State Board of Elections on Tuesday.

McClellan's certified results showed the voter turnout stood at 49.4 percent: 117,680 ballots cast to 238,290 registered voters.

Precinct 38 in Algonquin Township showed the highest turnout of 93.9 percent; 480 of the 511 registered voters showed up to the polls Nov. 6.

The Illinois State Board of Elections will certify the final results of the midterm elections Monday.
