Johnsburg’s Megan Madsen tossed in four of her five 3-pointers in the third quarter to push the Skyhawks past Richmond-Burton, 56-40, in their Kishwaukee River Conference girls basketball game Tuesday in Richmond.
Johnsburg led, 24-22, at halftime, but hit six of its eight 3s in the third. Katelyn Davis added a pair to go with Madsen’s four.
Morgan Madsen scored 12 for the Skyhawks (3-4, 2-1).
Kasey Miller led R-B (3-5, 1-2) with 14 points and Kayly Hogan hit two 3s and finished with 10 points. Peyton Bannon added nine points.
Cary-Grove 43, Crystal Lake South 29: At Cary, Maddie Jannusch scored 12 of her game-high 14 points in the first half as the Trojans (2-5, 2-0) defeated the Gators (2-5, 1-2) in their Fox Valley Conference game.
Emily Lukowski added 12 points for C-G, which jumped out to a 26-8 halftime lead.
South was led by Emily Rich and Gabrielle Trier with five points each.
Alden-Hebron 56, Harvest Christian 35: At Elgin, Rachel Pahl led four Giants in double figures as they defeated the Lions in their Northeastern Athletic Conference game.
A-H (5-2, 2-0) got 11 points each from Eden Wanderer and Taylor Horton, and Kylee Winter added 10 points.
Burlington Central 67, Woodstock 13: At Burlington, the Rockets’ defense made things really tough on the Blue Streaks (2-6, 1-2) in their KRC game.
Emma Brand scored six points and was 4 of 4 on free throws for Woodstock. Kathryn Schmidt and Elana Wells each scored 15 to lead the Rockets.
McHenry 60, Huntley 40: At Huntley, Izzy Gscheidle scored 23 points and had 11 rebounds for the Warriors in an FVC win. Gscheidle made three 3s and went 8 of 8 from the free-throw line.
Katie Beyer scored 19 points for McHenry (6-2, 2-1). She made six field goals and 6-of-8 free throws.
For Huntley (1-5, 0-2), Kamsi Nwogu scored 13 points and Anna Seng scored 10.
Woodstock North 47, Harvard 28: At Woodstock, the Thunder held Harvard to one point in the second quarter on their way to a KRC victory. Kaitlyn Ford led North (5-4, 1-1) with 12 points on four made 3s. Colette Jones added five points.
Haily Hill led Harvard (0-6, 0-3) with nine points. Lauren Shafer added six. Lindsey Shafer had four points and eight rebounds.
Marengo 56, Rockford Christian 54: At Rockford, Aiden Smith and Matt Volkening both scored 17 points to lead the Indians (3-5) past the Royal Lions in their nonconference game.
Marengo had a 26-16 lead at halftime, but the Lions scored 38 in the second half to make it tight at the end.
Finn Schirmer added eight points for the Indians. Nick Wascher dished out seven assists, and Brock Bertrand grabbed 11 rebounds.
Woodstock 70, Badger (Wisc.) 59: At Woodstock, Carl Anderson fired in 23 points as the Blue Streaks (2-3) defeated the Badgers in their nonconference game.
Ki Norgard and Nate Archambeau each scored 10 points, and Ethan Patterson added nine points.
Winnebago 56, Harvard 43: At Winnebago, Andrew Cooke scored a game-high 21 points to lead the Hornets (3-4) in their nonconference loss to the Indians.
Damon Mueller added 10 for Harvard.
Harvest Christian 52, Alden-Hebron 24: At Elgin, Gideon Schauer scored 17 points and grabbed five rebounds as the Giants lost to the Lions in their NAC game.
Grayslake Central 2,196, Johnsburg 1,893: At Grayslake, Miranda Hopp rolled a 438 series to lead the Skyhawks in their loss to the Rams.
Hopp had games of 152, 157 and 127. Kassidee Beasely had a 412 series and games of 152 and 158 for Johnsburg.
McHenry 3,372, Marengo 3,177: At McHenry, Dalton Atwater rolled three 200-plus games to lead the Warriors to a win over the Indians.
Atwater rolled games of 203, 252 and 236 for a 691 series. Jacob McLean had a 614 series and the high game of the night with a 265 in the third game of the match.
Shane McCue (548), Meier Glab (539), Cam Begley (530) and Dylan Brown (450) rounded out the scoring for McHenry.
Antonio Laino rolled a 594 series to lead Marengo. Austin Phillips (542), Josh Strein (534), Nate Petska (526), Jimmy Faber (501) and Kyle Peters (480) had the Indians’ other scores.
