Cary-Grove's Beau Frericks scored 17 of his game-high 24 points in the second half as the Trojans rallied for a 56-47 win over Jacobs in Fox Valley Conference boys basketball action Wednesday in Cary.
Frericks made nine buckets and was 6 of 7 from the free-throw line for C-G (12-6, 4-3 FVC), which outscored Jacobs in the second half, 35-23.
L.J. Waco added 13 points for the Trojans, and Frank Jakubicek had 11. Matt McCoy led the Golden Eagles (8-9, 2-5) with 17 points, hitting three 3-pointers. Jaden Henderson had 14 points and Keshaun Lyons tossed in six.
Crystal Lake South 58, McHenry 27: At McHenry, the Gators improved to 12-6 and 4-3 in the FVC with a win against the Warriors (1-15, 1-6).
Matt Reall scored 14 for South, while Damir Glamoc had 11 with three 3s. Jake Evans led McHenry with 10.
Woodstock 69, North Boone 50: At Poplar Grove, Evan Bridges scored a team-high 17 points in the Blue Streaks' nonconference win over the Vikings. Carl Anderson Jr. and Andrew Adams had 15 points apiece for Woodstock (7-8).
St. Viator 64, Marian Central 32: At Arlington Heights, the Hurricanes dropped an East Suburban Catholic Conference game, falling to 8-11 and 1-1 in the ESCC.
Hoffman Estates 52, Jacobs 34: At Hoffman Estates, the Golden Eagles (3-14) lost in nonconference action to the Hawks.
Woodstock North 73, Harvard 48: At Harvard, the Thunder (8-6, 2-0) defeated the Hornets (9-6, 0-2) in their Kishwaukee River Conference game.
McHenry 3,261, Woodstock 3,032: At Raymond's Bowl in Johnsburg, McHenry's Dalton Atwater bowled a match-high 778 series for the Warriors, who improved to 9-4. The senior had a 279 in his third game, adding a 265 and 234.
Also for McHenry, Cam Begley had a 566 series and Andrew Lichter a 558. Lichter rolled a 225 in his first game.
The Blue Streaks were led by Brendan Matthes with a 623 series, rolling games of 216, 201 and 206. David Kruse rolled a 563 with a high game of 202, Mason Hurless had a 555 with a high of 209, and Austin Arndt had a 542 with a high of 213.
Huntley 2,232, Mundelein 1,815: At Lakeside Lanes in Mundelein, Gen Porsche had the high series (503) and high game (170) in the victory for the Red Raiders. Rachel Pepke bowled a 468, Jen Spielman had a 432, Mary Boffa had a 422, and Abby Matula had a 407.
