To the Editor:
For the past 16 years, I have had the honor and pleasure of being an alderwoman for the city of McHenry, and to date, the only one to serve the 7th Ward. I have worked on many challenging proposals as well as seen some remarkable changes in our community.
Although I have enjoyed this service, I do believe in term limits, even if self-imposed! To that end, I directed the city attorney to explore if we could enact term limits in the city.
I am very excited for 7th Ward residents, as Sue Miller will be the next 7th Ward alderwoman. I am leaving our area of McHenry in very good hands. I also am very excited about Bobbi Baehne as the next 4th Ward alderwoman. These two women are very dynamic and determined. I had the honor of being included with them as 2018 recipients of McHenry County Women of Distinction.
My term will end in April, and I wish to thank all of the residents who have supported me, as well as those who challenged me during my time in office. I have met and worked with so many amazing people. Although I no longer will be an alderwoman, I will be around and always will be willing to help advocate. I just believe it is time for new people with new ideas and energy. Thanks, McHenry, for allowing me to serve you!
