The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a driver who crashed a car into a roadside pole Friday night and fled the scene on foot, authorities said.
The crash happened about 10 p.m. Friday in the 4800 block of Dean Street near Woodstock, sheriff’s office spokeswoman Sandra Rogers said.
“It was a car [versus] pole accident where the driver fled prior to police arrival,” Rogers wrote in an email to the Northwest Herald.
A K-9 unit searched the area for the driver after the crash and could not find anyone.
The investigation is ongoing.
Rogers said anyone with information about the incident should call the sheriff’s office at 815-338-2144.
