Suspect in armed robbery at gas station apprehended in Carpentersville

A suspect was arrested after a pre-dawn armed robbery Monday at a Carpentersville gas station, according to a village of Carpentersville public safety Facebook post.

The robbery happened Monday morning at a Shell gas station near the intersection of Route 25 and Kings Road.

The gas station is about a mile east of Dundee-Crown High School. Carpentersville police contacted School District 300 officials to update them on the incident, according to the Facebook post.

The suspect was arrested, and a gun was recovered, police said. The name of the suspect has not been released. No one was injured, and the area was deemed “clear and safe,” police said.

Police departments from East Dundee and West Dundee assisted the Kane County Sheriff’s Office with the investigation.
