Harvard School District 50 will host kindergarten registration from 2 to 7 p.m. March 13 and from 3:30 to 6 p.m. March 18 at Crosby Elementary School for parents with children entering kindergarten in the fall.
During the event, parents will receive information about physicals, immunizations, transportation, the district’s dual language program and more.
To be eligible to attend kindergarten during the 2019-20 school year, children must be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1, and parents must have a copy of the child’s birth certificate at the time of registration and provide three forms of proof of residency (such as a tax bill, utility bill, lease agreement or a voter’s registration card).
A registration fee of $115 will be collected. If a family is unable to pay the full fee at registration, a four-period payment plan can be set up, with an initial down payment required at registration.
For students not enrolled in the Washington preschool program, an additional screening and orientation event will be from 1:30 to 6 p.m. April 10.
Qualified families will be asked to sign up for a screening time during the March registration.
The screenings last 20 minutes and are a way to gauge each child’s current level of development. Information obtained from screenings is used as a guide to best plan for individual students as they begin class at Crosby.
All registration and screenings will take place at Crosby Elementary School, 401 Hereley Drive, Harvard. For information, call 815-943-6125.
