Harvard girls basketball achieved its first postseason win since Feb. 11, 2008, with a 56-18 victory over Chicago Intrinsic Charter on Monday at the Class 3A St. Viator Regional quarterfinals in Arlington Heights.
Dinah Harter led the Hornets (3-22) with 13 points and five rebounds, Cassandra Bailey chipped in with 11 points and nine rebounds, and Lauren Shafer had 12 points.
Harvard plays top-seeded St. Viator in the regional semifinals at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
Huntley 69, Rockford East 56: At the Class 4A Rockford Jefferson Regional, Melissa Moffett connected on four 3-pointers and finished with 17 points to lead the Red Raiders to a win in a regional quarterfinal.
Kamsi Nwogu added 14 points, and Bridget Bigden had eight points.
Huntley (12-18) faces top-seeded Boylan in the regional semifinals at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
Woodstock def. Chicago CICS/Northtown (fft.): At the Class 3A Woodstock Regional, the Blue Streaks moved on to the regional semifinals after CICS/Northtown forfeited Monday's quarterfinal game.
Woodstock plays Marengo in the semifinals at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
BOYS BASKETBALL
Crystal Lake South 62, Marian Central 47: At Woodstock, Damir Glamoc was one of four Gators to score in double figures in a nonconference win.
Glamoc scored a team-high 16 points for South (20-6). Casey Haskin added 13 points, Ryan Lawson had 12 points, and Matt Reall scored 11.
Ben Moscinski topped Marian with 17 points, and Ben Minneci added nine points.
