A McHenry man is due in court Wednesday after police said they seized cocaine, marijuana and more than $4,000 cash from his home.
Pershaun L. Davis, 39, remained in the McHenry County Jail on a $150,000 bond Tuesday evening. He would need to post $15,000 bail to be released.
Officers used a warrant to search Davis’ home Thursday in the 2800 block of Shorewood Drive, according to a motion prosecutors filed in McHenry County court. Inside, police found more than
1 ounce of cocaine, about 16 grams of marijuana and $4,182 in cash, the motion stated.
The McHenry County Courthouse was closed Tuesday, and Davis’ public defender could not be reached for comment.
Davis is charged with possession with intent to deliver cocaine, possession of cocaine, possession with intent to deliver marijuana and possession of marijuana. The most serious charge, possession with intent to deliver cocaine, typically is punishable by as many as 30 years in prison.
Davis’ criminal history includes a 1999 possession of a controlled substance conviction out of Lake County, public records show. He was sentenced in that case to less than a year in jail, two years of probation and community service.
Davis is scheduled for a bond hearing Wednesday morning in McHenry County court.
