Man flown to hospital after Pistakee Highlands table saw accident, fire official says

A 49-year-old man was flown to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital Tuesday evening after injuring himself while using a saw, fire officials said.

McHenry firefighters received a call at 6:09 p.m. Tuesday to respond to the 5800 block of Bunny Avenue, Pistakee Highlands. There, a man had reportedly severed a finger with a saw, McHenry Fire Battalion Chief Mike Majerick said.

“The patient was using a table saw and completely cut off one finger and severely damaged the other four,” Majerick said.

Flight for Life transported the man to the hospital to have his finger reattached, Majerick said.
