High school sports roundup for Friday, April 12

Prairie Ridge's Abby Eriksen scored three times and tacked on an assist Friday as the Wolves shut out Lakes, 4-0, in a nonconference soccer match in Lake Villa.

Nikki Anderson recorded the other goal for the Wolves (9-0-1) and had two assists. Delaney Todd was also credited with an assist.

Sam Gablenz made one save in goal to ensure the shutout.

Richmond-Burton 5, Rockford Christian 0: At the Richmond-Burton Tournament, Audrey Orkild and Lilly Alberts each scored twice for the Rockets (3-4).

Camille Husko added a goal on a penalty kick. Lilly MacLean, Victoria Rockwell, Mae Luce and Anne Bilik all had assists.

Keeper Kendall Hauggard made two saves in the shutout.

SOFTBALL

Huntley 11, McHenry 0 (5 inn.): At Rosemont, Teagan O'Rilley and Sofia Tenuta each belted two-run homers in the Red Raiders' Fox Valley Conference win.

Reese Hunkins aided Huntley (12-3, 3-0 FVC) with a 3-for-3 performance that included a double, a triple and three RBIs. Grace Kutz was 3 for 3 with two doubles and three runs scored. Tenuta also doubled, Kendra Mitchell had two hits, and Courtney Mills, Lindsay Morgan and Briana Bower drove in one run apiece.

Bower allowed only two hits and recorded 12 of her 15 outs via strikeout.

Ashley Zoephel and Tori Boysen supplied McHenry (2-5, 1-2) with its only two hits.

Grant 21, Prairie Ridge 14: At Fox Lake, Grant and Prairie Ridge combined for 45 hits and nine home runs in a wild nonconference game.

Emmie Farnam homered twice for the Wolves (0-6). She also doubled as part of a four-hit day with four runs scored and three RBIs. Nichole Kiddy was 2 for 4 with a homer and four RBIs, and Kylie Leverenz went 3 for 5 with a homer and three RBIs.

Bella Crimaldi was 4 for 5 with a triple, Julia Vosberg doubled twice and drove in three, and Jillian Minutillo finished with three hits, including a double.

Harvard 13, Rochelle 5: At Harvard, the Hornets (5-2) picked up a nonconference win behind Dezzy Ingersoll.

Ingersoll walked once and had a double and a triple to finish with three runs scored and four RBIs.

Kerrigan Kotecki went 3 for 5 and scored twice, Hannah Saucedo had a double and two RBIs, Kimmyra Neal was 2 for 4 with a double and two RBIs, Corinna Pelayo was 2 for 4 with two runs scored and an RBI, Jennah Brookner had two hits and an RBI, and Allison Musgrove scored three runs on a hit and two walks.

Libertyville 8, Cary-Grove 1: At Libertyville, the Trojans surrendered seven runs in the first inning of a nonconference loss.

Emma Hill drove in the only run for C-G (4-4), and Kelly Johnson had double.

BASEBALL

Jacobs 5, Crystal Lake Central 2: At Algonquin, leadoff hitter Christian Scianna drove in three runs on a pair of hits to lead the Golden Eagles to an FVC win.

Daniel Klein added two RBIs for Jacobs (6-8, 3-4) on a base hit and two walks.

Will Welder and Lucas Wagner each had a double for Central (6-6, 1-3), and Trey Desimone drove in one run.

Antioch 15, McHenry 5 (5 inn.): The Warriors jumped out to a 5-2 lead, but Antioch took control of its nonconference game with 11 runs in the third inning.

Joe Kaminski went 2 for 3 with a triple and an RBI for McHenry (9-4), and Trevor Rockweiler had a double.

Dundee-Crown 11, Burlington Central 0 (5 inn.): At Carpentersville, Nick Gregory pitched a one-hit shutout with eight strikeouts to give the Chargers a nonconference win.

Ray Gestrich led the offense for D-C (3-9) with a 2-for-3 effort with three RBIs, Justin Colon scored twice and knocked in two, Justin Lawson doubled and drove in one run, and Evan Echlin and Gregory had two hits apiece.

BOYS TENNIS

Jacobs 7, Hampshire 0: At Algonquin, the Golden Eagles swept their FVC dual with Hampshire.

Thomas Nelson, Kyle Burton and Ben Cannon each won in singles competition. Kevin Burton and John Kaiser won at No. 1 doubles, while Ethan Schmidt and Brandon Dinh (No. 2 doubles), Justin Brzeski and Jed Philip Sia (No. 3) and Chris Kastritis and Grant Stelton (No. 4) also won.

Jacobs 7, Elgin 0: At Algonquin, the Golden Eagles picked up a nonconference win.
