A contract that would give Erika Schlichter, Huntley District 158 assistant superintendent of learning and innovation, $480,000 over the next three years will be up for board approval Thursday.
Schlichter has a base salary of $141,886, according to the district’s 2018-19 staff salary and benefits report.
Her new proposed contract calls for her to make $155,000 in base salary next year, then $160,000 and $165,000 in the following years – $50,000 less than the terms of District 158 Superintendent Scott Rowe’s current contract.
In addition to her salary, the school board will pick up Schlichter’s entire contribution to the Illinois Teachers’ Retirement System pension fund during the term of the agreement. It also will pick up and pay the assistant superintendent’s entire contribution to the Teachers’ Health Insurance Security fund.
The contract also offers paid vacation of 20 working days annually with up to 10 vacation days rolling over to a subsequent contract year if Schlichter is re-employed.
In March, the board approved another assistant superintendent contract for Rocio Del Castillo, who will be focused on special populations.
This new role will provide high-level leadership for special education services, bilingual education and dual language, social-emotional learning and educational equity.
She will make $140,000 in base salary next year, then $143,000 and $146,000 in the following years.
Thursday’s meeting will start at 6 p.m. in the board room of the District 158 administrative building, 650 Dr. John Burkey Drive, and will go into closed session until about 7 p.m.
