2 Woodstock men accused of possessing Xanax pills freed on bond

A pair of Woodstock men accused of possessing 29 Xanax pills have been freed on bond, court records show.

The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office and members of the U.S. Marshal’s Service Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force served an arrest warrant Tuesday at a home in the 500 block of Birch Avenue in Woodstock, Sheriff’s Deputy Sandra Rogers said.

Officers arrested 18-year-old Marcos Arreola and 23-year-old Oscar Arreola. Both men live at the Birch Avenue home and are charged with possession of a controlled substance, which is a felony typically punishable by as many as three years in prison.

Representatives from the sheriff’s office could not be reached Thursday or Friday to provide details about the charges.

It is unclear what led to the issuance of a warrant or where the drugs specifically were found.

The men each posted bail Tuesday and were released from the McHenry County Jail on bond, records show.
