College baseball: McHenry County College stays hot, routs Moraine Valley

Travis Baily and Owen Patzin each drove in three runs Friday in McHenry County College's 16-0 Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference victory over Moraine Valley Community College in Crystal Lake.

Baily went 2 for 3, and Patzin was 3 for 4. The Scots have scored 72 runs in their past four games.

John Vanderploeg struck out 10 and allowed two hits in five innings to earn the win. Cory Busse (Woodstock North graduate) pitched the final two innings, allowing one hit.

Patzin (McHenry East) and Bryce Brogni, who had two RBIs, each had three hits for MCC (27-8, 14-4 ISCC). Other top hitters for the Scots included Jeff Heinrich (Huntley), who went 2 for 4 with three runs scored and an RBI, and Bryce Toussaint, who was 2 for 3 with three runs scored and an RBI.
