Lake in the Hills village staff is accepting applications for residents interested in serving on the Planning and Zoning Commission.
A position on the commission opened after commissioner Diane Murphy was elected to the Village Board in April alongside incumbents Suzette Bojarski and Ray Bogdanowski.
The Planning and Zoning Commission is responsible for reviewing any applications for variances, zoning amendments, conditional use permits, planned unit developments, appeals to decisions made by the director of community development, subdivision plats and development plans.
Based on its findings, the commission then makes a positive or negative recommendation to the request for the Village Board’s consideration.
The commission is composed of chairman Joe DeMay and commissioners Brent Borkgren, Anna Siakel, Greg Walker, Tim Serritella and Mike Esposito.
The commission meets on the Monday after the second Tuesday of every month unless a special meeting is called. Regular meetings begin at 7:30 p.m. and are open to the public.
Applications for the Planning and Zoning Commission are available on the village’s website.
Completed applications should be sent with a résumé to Village President Russ Ruzanski, Lake in the Hills Village Hall, 600 Harvest Gate.
Lake in the Hills management analyst Tricia O’Donnell said applications will be accepted until the seat is filled.
