At 7 p.m. Tuesday, ticket sales will stop. All tickets will be placed in the bin. Then one ticket is pulled from the bin.
After carefully checking that the ticket was purchased that week, the cardholder's first name and last initial are announced along with the envelope number that was selected on the ticket.
The corresponding envelope from the display case near the bar is then pulled and carried to the front of the drawing. The envelope is then opened and the card inside is revealed. If the Queen of Hearts is pulled right away on Tuesday, the winner would receive $2,738,020.50 before taxes.
Otherwise, another card will be pulled and the prize money awarded will be subtracted from the pot before moving on.
After a card with a particular number is pulled, no further prizes will be awarded for tickets pulled with that number. Tickets will be pulled until one with a new number is pulled.
That card will then be pulled from the board and the card will be revealed. The process will repeat itself until the queen of hearts is revealed.
