Restaurante el Sol in Woodstock fails alcohol compliance check

Woodstock police conducted an alcohol compliance check on 28 businesses this month and found only one – Restaurante el Sol, 201 E. Church St. – to be noncompliant, according to a news release from the Woodstock Police Department.

The employee who served alcohol to a minor was issued a municipal code violation citation, according to the release.

The Illinois State Police Alcohol Countermeasure Enforcement Team assisted with the compliance check.

The city of Woodstock seeks to educate local alcohol retailers on minimum-age alcohol laws and the importance of verifying customers’ ages before selling products such as alcohol, according to the release.
