The Harrison District 36 school board has approved a new three-year contract for its superintendent Sue Wings.
The new contract goes into effect July 1 and ends June 30, 2022. Wings’ salary will be $115,850 in the first year, $120,484 in the second year and $125,304 in the third year, according to the contract.
Wings’ salary was $111,395 in the 2017-18 and 2018-19 school years, according to district documents.
The district also will pay Wings $100 a month to go toward a cellphone and $2,000 a year for Wings’ dues and membership fees to professional organizations, according to the contract.
The superintendent is entitled to 20 vacation days, 12 sick days and three personal days per calender year, according to the contract. If personal days go unused they can become sick days. If sick days go unused they can accumulate to a maximum of 340 days, according to the contract.
The contract and its details weren’t specified on the June 25 meeting agenda before board approval.
The board Tuesday tabled a discussion and vote on the 2019-2023 teachers contract and a resolution regarding a settlement agreement and general release, Wings said.
Harrison District 36 is based in Wonder Lake. The district consists of Harrison Elementary School which has an enrollment of 394, according to the most recent data from the Illinois State Board of Education.
