The Woodstock Fire and Police departments responded to a rollover crash at Route 14 and Lake Avenue on Monday morning.
Woodstock Deputy Police Chief Ray Lanz said a 2003 Honda Accord was going west on Route 14, approaching the Lake Avenue intersection, when it collided with a 2019 Ford Edge coming from Lake Avenue and making a left turn onto eastbound Route 14.
The Ford Edge rolled and landed on its roof.
According to witness statements and investigations, Lantz said the driver of the Honda Accord, 62-year-old Andrew Jung of Skokie, disobeyed the traffic-control light and proceeded into the intersection. Police were not able to release the name of the 55-year-old woman driving the Ford Edge, who is from Sussex, Wisconsin.
Lanz said there were no injuries, and everybody involved refused medical treatment.
“Luckily, the speed wasn’t at such a rate that it created a bad impact,” Lanz said, adding that it was the angle at which the accident happened that caused the one vehicle to roll over.
The accident happened at 11:40 a.m. Monday. The road was partially closed until the vehicles were moved, Lanz said.
Jung was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash and disobeying a traffic-control device.
