Dundee-Crown’s Ronald Dearborn scored three times as the Chargers defeated Prairie Ridge, 3-1, in their Fox Valley Conference boys soccer opener Thursday.
Julian Saldana assisted on Dearborn’s goal in the 30th minute and again on his last goal, which came in the 53rd minute. Dearborn also scored in the 52nd minute.
D-C (4-1, 1-0 FVC) got three saves each in goal from Venancio Mejia and Nathan Becker.
Prairie Ridge is 2-2, 0-1.
Crystal Lake Central 5, Burlington Central 1: At Burlington, Billy Cummings and Jake Nelson each had a goal and an assist as the Tigers (1-0-1, 1-0) won their FVC opener over the Rockets.
Mason Pfeifer, Aidan Hudak and Elijah Burlson also scored for Central, while Joey Cummings and Brandon Bruski each had an assist.
Tigers goalkeeper Joey Moore had one save.
McHenry 1, Wauconda 1: At the Wauconda Tournament, Jose Lira scored off of Ailton Rodriguez’s assist to give the Warriors (2-2-1) a tie against the Bulldogs.
Warriors goalkeeper Logan Fried had five saves.
Antioch 3, Woodstock North 1: At Antioch, Jesus Diaz scored the Thunder’s lone goal in a nonconference loss to the Sequoits.
Von Steuben 2, Huntley 1: At Huntley, Austin Killen scored off Justin Kornas’ assist in their loss to the Panthers. Ethan Kornas had nine saves in goal.
McHenry 163, Jacobs 165: At Randall Oaks in West Dundee, Truman Keppy shot 37 and Ryan Peters added a 40 as the Warriors edged the Golden Eagles in their FVC match.
Kyle Schutt (39) and Jason Seaholm (41) led Jacobs.
Wauconda 177, Johnsburg 199: At Chapel Hill in Johnsburg, Tyler Malueg led the Skyhawks (1-3) with a 45 and Mike Link added a 48.
Cary-Grove 160, Huntley 165: At Foxford Hills in Cary, Trevor Beaugureau shot 38 and birdied the second hole to lead the Trojans to an FVC dual victory over the Red Raiders.
Michael Greenhill (40), Joey Vitullo and Cole Seeger (both 41s) rounded out C-G’s scoring.
Danny Sheedy led Huntley with a 39.
Prairie Ridge 173, Dundee-Crown 178: At Chalet Hills in Cary, Eddie Winkelmann fired a 39 to lead the Wolves to an FVC win against the Chargers.
Grant Klepitsch and Bailey Lazar both had 46s for the Wolves.
Jake Zirlin led D-C with a 41.
Marengo 193, IMSA 195: At Hughes Creek in Elburn, the Indians’ Brady Cannon shot 39 as they picked up their third road win of the season.
Woodstock North co-op 199, Richmond-Burton 226: At Bull Valley in Woodstock, Aidan Filetti shot 44 and Tanner Hurless added a 49 to lead the Thunder to a Kishwaukee River Conference victory over the Rockets.
Johnsburg 200, Grant 261: At Boone Creek in Bull Valley, Ellie Johnson carded a 45 to earn medalist honors and lead the Skyhawks to a nonconference dual win.
Gracie Berthoud followed with a 46, Lana Bowers shot 51, and Hailey Bullamore shot 58.
Hampshire 197, West Chicago 214: At Randall Oaks in West Dundee, Delaney Marcuccilli shot 44 and Gianna Farinella had a 45 to lead the Whip-Purs past the Wildcats in their nonconference match.
Prairie Ridge 2, McHenry 0: At Crystal Lake, Trinity Sheridan had 12 kills as the Wolves (3-2, 3-1) defeated the Warriors (2-3, 1-3) in their FVC match, 25-17, 25-14.
Hannah Baudin had 21 assists, Olivia Jost had six digs and Kaylin Mitchell had four blocks and two aces.
Jacobs 2, Burlington Central 1: At Algonquin, Maggie Wallenberger had 15 kills as the Golden Eagles (3-1, 3-1) defeated the Rockets (1-3, 1-3) in their FVC match, 21-25, 25-21, 25-20.
Rachel Kaczorowski had 22 assists and 11 digs for the Eagles.
Crystal Lake Central 2, Hampshire 0: At Hampshire, Maddy McCormick and Karina Simatos each had five aces as the Tigers (4-0, 4-0) defeated the Whip-Purs (1-4, 0-4) in their FVC match, 25-13, 25-9.

Rockford Christian 2, Harvard 0: At Rockford, Michaela Froehlich had four kills and Desiree Brady had four aces as the Hornets (0-3) fell to the Royal Lions in a nonconference match.

BOYS CROSS COUNTRY
Genoa-Kingston Quadrangular: At Kingston, Richmond-Burton’s Ethan Luedke won the race in 16:41, finishing 31 seconds ahead of the next finisher at Walcamp in the four-team meet.
Mitch Elder took 13th for the Rockets.
GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY
Genoa-Kingston Meet: At Kingston, R-B’s Jane Wisniewski (third), Amanda Allport (fourth) and Catherine Miller (sixth) led the Rockets to second in the five-team meet at Walcamp with 37 points. Sycamore won with 31.
Lily Alberts was 15th and Victoria Rockwell was 16th.
Prairie Ridge 4, Crystal Lake Central 3: At Crystal Lake, the Wolves’ Macy Biggam edged Ellie McGinnis, 6-2, 4-6, 6-4, at No. 1 singles in the only three-set match of the competition.
Prairie Ridge got wins at No. 1 doubles (Georgie Durrant and Ella Kusmiersz), No. 2 doubles (Sarah Pollostrini and Lauren Pokonosky) and No. 3 doubles (Kourtnie Eschman and Lily Manley).
Julia Fier and Haley Bernard won at singles, while Caroline Dayon and Lauren Fier won at No. 4 doubles for Central.
Dundee-Crown 4, Woodstock 3: At Woodstock, Lizbeth Tinajero and Olivia Gard won at Nos. 1 and 2 singles for the Chargers in their nonconference win against the Blue Streaks.
D-C’s other victories came at No. 1 doubles (Alaina Azar and Suzi Thompson) and No. 2 doubles (Anna McNicholas and Chanel Ziegler).
Woodstock got wins from Grace Hockemeyer (No. 3 singles), Emily Esparza and Brooke Wolf (No. 3 doubles) and Reagan Rockwood and Hannah Wieterman (No. 4 doubles).
Jacobs 6, Hampshire 1: At Hampshire, Kaya Trumbo and Tania Vesselinova won at Nos. 1 and 2 singles to lead the Golden Eagles past the Whip-Purs in their FVC match.
Lindsay Cunningham and Isha Desai (No. 1), Lindsey Taylor and Lara Santa Ines (No. 2), Alison Gerhardt and Samantha Seibert (No. 3) and Hannah Strauss and Anya Wieczorek (No. 4) won for Jacobs.
Cary-Grove 6, Crystal Lake South 1: At Crystal Lake, Kaitlin Warner, Karina Los and Sara Greenwald won at singles for the Trojans (6-2, 1-0) in their FVC win over the Gators.
Hannah Schuetzle and Anna Chang at No. 1 doubles picked up South’s lone win.
Huntley 7, McHenry 0: At Huntley, Ruhi Gulati, Elaina Hibbeler and Alessandra Rivera won at singles as the Red Raiders (4-5, 1-0) won their FVC match over the Warriors.
Huntley did not lose a set in the match.
