High school football: Week 2 results; recaps for every game

Jacobs 14, Huntley 7: The Golden Eagles put on a defensive clinic Friday and mustered just enough offense to pull off the upset in Fox Valley Conference play.

Cary-Grove 29, Crystal Lake Central 7: Blake Skol led the way with 114 yards and three scores, and the Trojans piled up 364 yards on the ground in the FVC win.

Crystal Lake South 27, Burlington Central 8: At the Gators got into the win column for the first time this season with the FVC victory behind two touchdowns for Ian Gorken and four sacks by Jason Burburija.

Prairie Ridge 59, Hampshire 0: Connor Lydon threw for three touchdowns, Carter Evans ran for two more and caught another, and the Wolves defense scored twice in the FVC win.

Marengo 54, Plano 0: Senior running back Finn Schirmer ran for a career-high six touchdowns and finished with 162 rushing yards in the nonconference win for the Indians.

Woodstock 15, Ottawa 7: Alex Wojnicki recovered a key fumble in the fourth quarter, and quarterback Michael Purkey found Nathan Archambeau for a late 12-yard touchdown to seal the nonconference victory.

McHenry 14, Dundee-Crown 7: The Warriors defense turned in a terrific performance, including three sacks by Kevin Sandoval, to come away with the FVC win.

Johnsburg 18, Rochelle 6: Jacob McKinney returned the opening kickoff of Friday's nonconference contest 91 yards for a touchdown, and the Skyhawks outscored Rochelle 11-0 in the second half.

Sandwich 20, Harvard 18: Ivan Guzman’s 37-yard field goal came up just short in the final minute as Harvard fell in nonconference action.

Marian Central 38, Chicago Lindblom 0: Luke Rogers returned the opening kickoff 90 yards for a touchdown and Marian rolled from there to a nonconference victory.

Richmond-Burton 50, Aurora Central Catholic 0: Jacob Huber needed just six completions to throw four touchdowns as the Rockets cruised to the nonconference win.
