Algonquin currently is going through its semi-annual hydrant flushing operation.

According to the village’s website, this is to ensure proper operation of each hydrant, and improve overall water quality by moving fresh water through the distribution system.

From Sept. 23 to 27, hydrant flushing will happen in the area north of Edgewood Drive and Filip Road, east of Hanson Road and west of the Fox River. This includes the Arrowhead subdivision, Main Street and all of Harrison Street.

From Sept. 30 through Oct. 4, the area south of Filip Road, Edgewood Drive, and County Line Road, west of the Fox River, and east of Randall Road will have its hydrants flushed.

From Oct. 7 through Oct. 11, the area east of Randall Road, south of Algonquin Road, west of Hanson Road and north of Country Line Road. After that, from Oct. 14 through 17, the area of west of Square Barn Road up to the village limits will have its hydrants flushed.
