To the editor:
As the impeachment hearings continue, the country seems even further divided. To assume that we will emerge at the end as an honorable country with integrity and the respect of the world seems somewhat unlikely.
So what result could come? Could we become one of the rough, self serving countries expanding our influence in less than admirable ways? Could we learn to reward the best political deception? Could we continue to accept our elected officials ignoring our needs and voting whatever way their party dictates? Can we accept the continuing growth of gun ownership and the violence against our children in schools ? Can we continue to damage our environment and ignore global warming as the truly wealthy accumulate even more assets?
Not all stories have a happy ending. Our only hope is to vote.
