High school sports roundup for Monday, Nov. 25

Crystal Lake South's Damir Glamoc scored 18 points, and the Gators defeated Richmond-Burton, 57-48, on Monday in Richmond in the Johnsburg/Richmond-Burton Thanksgiving Tournament. South's Cooper LePage scored 15 points, including three 3s, in the season-opening victory. Brock Jewson added eight points for South (1-0).

For R-B (0-1), Tommy Griffin scored 13 points with three 3s and 4-of-6 free-throw shooting. Payton May contributed 12 points, and Jacob Barthel added eight points.

Huntley 63, Johnsburg 37: At Johnsburg in the Johnsburg/Richmond-Burton Thanksgiving Tournament, Huntley’s Uchenna Egekeze and Ryan Sroka each scored 17 points in a win over Johnsburg. Ryan Crosby added 10 points for the Red Raiders (1-0).

For Johnsburg (0-1), Stanley Thill led the way with nine points. Joey Comstock and Josh Notriano each scored seven points.

Cary-Grove 53, Maine West 41: At the Palatine Ed Molitor Thanksgiving Tournament, C-G’s Ryan Weaver scored 15 points to lead the Trojans (1-0) to a win. Frank Jakubicek scored 12 and Beau Frericks added 10.

Hononegah 62, McHenry 40: At the Crystal Lake Central Thanksgiving Tournament, Kyle Kaempf led McHenry with 11 points in a season-opening loss for the Warriors (0-1). Anthony Fowler scored eight points. Carter Foat and Matt Gallimore each scored six.

Schaumburg 57, Prairie Ridge 33: At the Crystal Lake Central Thanksgiving Tournament, after Prairie Ridge went scoreless in the first quarter, Ryan Hansen scored 17 points to lead the Wolves (0-1). Hansen made five 3-pointers in the game.

Luke Wolf and Ethan Empaces each added five points for Prairie Ridge.

IMSA 54, Alden-Hebron 35: At Hebron, Mike Ellison scored 13 points, including two 3-pointers, for the Giants in a nonconference loss to IMSA. Cody Kurcab scored 12 points, making 6 of 9 free throws. Thomas Webber contributed seven points for A-H (0-1).

Kaneland 64, Harvard 31: In the Woodstock Hoops for Healing Tournament at Woodstock, Harvard’s Austin Kohley scored 11 points to lead the Hornets in a loss. Dylan Perkins scored nine points, and Trey Amaya added seven for Harvard (0-1).

Antioch 51, Woodstock 33: In the Woodstock Hoops for Healing Tournament at Woodstock, Ethan Zielinski made two 3s and led Woodstock with nine points in a loss. Nick Weber added eight points for the Blue Streaks (0-1). Javier Garay and Nate Archambeau each scored five.

Woodstock North 67, Round Lake 64: In the Woodstock Hoops for Healing Tournament at Woodstock North, Cole Bray scored 28 points for North (1-0) in a nonconfernece win. Joe Chase added 14 points. Elijah Pena scored seven and Javy Salas added five.

Metamora 61, Marengo 48: At the Ottawa-Dean Riley Shootin’ the Rock Thanksgiving Tournament, Aiden Smith made four 3s for a total of 12 points in the Indians’ loss. Mike Volkening added 10 points, and Jonah Pace scored seven for Marengo (0-1).

St. Charles East 90, Hampshire 65: At the Ron Johnson Thanksgiving Basketball Tournament in St. Charles, the Saints (1-0) outscored the Whip-Purs (0-1), 24-9, in the fourth quarter to seal the win.

Collin Woods led Hampshire with 13 points, seven rebounds and three assists. Kenyan Davis added 11 points, while Jeremy Rosa Jr., Nicholas Erickson and sophomore Adam Ugochukwu had 10 points each.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Wauconda 52, Richmond-Burton 35: At the Wauconda Thanksgiving Tournament, R-B’s Peyton Bannon scored 18 points in a loss, making 6 of 8 free throws. Rachel Baker scored 10 points for the Rockets (2-1).

Harvard 50, Willows Academy 23: At Harvard, Emma Ackland scored nine points for the Hornets in a nonconference victory. Lauren Shafer added eight points. Aylia Lemus and Haily Hill each scored seven points for Harvard (3-2).

Rockford Christian 65, Alden-Hebron 36: At Rockford, Rachel Pahl scored 13 points for the Giants in a loss to Rockford Christian. Kendra Cashmore and Anna Webber each added eight points for A-H (1-4).

BOYS BOWLING

Huntley 3,077, Mundelein 2,783: At Bowl-Hi Lanes in Huntley, Nick Zummo led Huntley with a 662 series, including a high game of 268. Joe Kern bowled a 646 series, and Jerik Alcasid rolled a 605 series.
