No injuries result from 4-car crash
HARVARD – No one was injured in a chain-reaction, four-car crash Friday evening.
Jonathan H. Gutierrez, 16, of Harvard, was driving a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am south on Division Street near McGuire Road when he rear-ended a 2002 Honda Civic driven by Thorkil Fog, 75, of Harvard, Harvard Police Sgt. Dale Langston said.
Thorkil then hit Faith A. Keaskowski, 44, of Marengo, who was driving a 2003 Cadillac. Keaskowski hit the car in front of her, but the driver left the scene, Langston said.
Gutierrez was issued a citation for failure to use due care, Langston said.
Everyone was wearing their seat belts, Langston said.

Exhaust fan starts attic fire
CARY – An exhaust fan in an upstairs bathroom at 909 Main St. caught fire about 1:20 p.m. Saturday.
The fire was contained to the attic, and no one was injured, Lt. Michael Douglass said.
Homeowner Barbara Oberg and her mother were in the house when the fire started but were able to safely evacuate after being alerted by a smoke detector, according to a news release.
Responders were on the scene two minutes after the call was received, Douglass said.
The house still was habitable, the news release stated, but a damage estimate was not available.
