Greenwood board seeks new trustee

WONDER LAKE – The Greenwood Township Board has an opening for a trustee.

Trustee Tom Wilson resigned his position effective Aug. 11 after seven years on the board to spend more time with family and to accommodate his work schedule, Township Supervisor Don Kaiser said.

Interested candidates for township trustee should be residents of Greenwood Township and U.S. citizens, and be able to attend a meeting the second Monday evening of each month. Attendance also will be expected at an annual town meeting in April and one or two other special meetings during the year. The appointed trustee will finish the rest of Wilson’s term and could run for re-election in 2009.

To apply for the position, call Kaiser at 815-648-4653 or 815-338-7188, or pick up an application at the township office at 5211 Miller Road in Wonder Lake. The deadline for returning applications is Sept. 29.
