Merry Cary applications accepted

CARY – Applications are being accepted for the Merry Cary Holiday Parade and Celebration, McHenry County’s largest holiday parade.

The event will be Dec. 7 in downtown Cary. It is hosted by the Cary Grove Area Chamber of Commerce and the village of Cary.

Local business, community groups and organizations are invited to participate. Applications forms are available on the chamber’s Web site, www.carygrovechamber.com. The application deadline is Oct. 23.

Each year, more than 4,000 people participate in the Merry Cary celebration. The parade lines up at noon and begins its march down West Main Street through downtown Cary at 1 p.m.

Festivities after the parade include horse-drawn sleigh rides through downtown Cary, performances by local entertainers, holiday caroling, a petty zoo, pony rides and more.

All events are free to area residents.

To participate, send an application form to the chamber at 27 E. Main St., Cary, IL 60013, or fax the form to 847-639-2168. Forms are available online at www.carygrovechamber.com.

Booth space for local businesses is available in the downtown area during the event for a small fee. For information, call the chamber at 847-639-2800.
