Motorcyclist taken to hospital after accident

CRYSTAL LAKE – Alcohol is thought to be a factor in a motorcycle accident that sent one man to the hospital Saturday night.

Federico E. Samayoa, 33, was driving a 1996 Harley Davidson southeast on the 8600 block of Route 14 when he veered to the side of the road for unknown reasons. He then was thrown from his motorcycle, according to police reports.

Samayoa, of 314 Hickory Drive, Crystal Lake, was not wearing his helmet. As of Sunday, he was listed in stable condition at Centegra Hospital – Woodstock.

Nobody else was involved in the accident.

Samayoa was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and other traffic violations, according to police reports. The McHenry County Sheriff’s department continues to investigate the crash.
