HARVARD – John Bosko said for his 33rd wedding anniversary he took his wife, Lorri, to a taping of "The Price is Right" game show in California, and his wife was chosen as a contestant. She will appear on a episode that will air 10 a.m. Tuesday on CBS.
"It was the highlight of our life," said John Bosko, who works as a greeter at a Wal-Mart SuperCenter. "I record every show."
Bosko said he and his wife last month stayed at a hotel a few blocks from Bob Barker Studio, formerly known as Studio 33 at CBS Television City in Hollywood, Calif. They rose at 3 a.m. and walked to the set where the show is recorded and got choice seats in the front row because they got there early.
John Bosko said that once the show commenced, it was so loud in the studio that when his wife was told to "come on down" they couldn't hear what Drew Carey was saying. He realized that his wife was chosen because a white sign with "Lorri Bosko" written on it was lowered from the ceiling.
John Bosko said that he couldn't divulge whether his wife won any prizes because they had to sign a nondisclosure agreement.
"My wife was born in Poland, and when Drew Carey asked her about it, polka music started playing, and she and Drew Carey danced on stage. And he asked me, 'John, what are you going to do for your next anniversary?'"
