Wait on SSA

To the Editor:

Re: Jan Flade’s Dec. 8 letter.

I agree with Flade and others who have written that the special service area planned for Wonder Lake should be tabled until the economy turns around.

I know the village and the Master Property Owners Association want to get it going – they’ve been working toward this for a long time – but things are so bad for so many people right now it just doesn’t make sense to undertake it at this time.

Many people are struggling to keep their homes, and an additional expense like this could throw them over the edge.

Others are having their hours cut and fear for their jobs. Flade was right: If people lose their homes, who will pay for the SSA?

New buyers are understandably wary of buying property that has an SSA attached to it.  Please reconsider this. There is time enough to dredge when things get better.

Right now, putting food on the table and paying for the necessities of life is more important.
