Meeting has been moved
To the Editor:
It has come to the attention of citizens concerned with the possible construction of a cell tower in Ken Bird Park that because of yet another request by T-Mobile, the meeting planned for Jan. 7 with the Crystal Lake Planning and Zoning Commission now has been pushed to Feb. 4.
T-Mobile seems determined to delay this issue from being brought to zoning and planning as many times as possible. Perhaps they feel postponements will create enough confusion that residents will become distracted and lose focus. No amount of time will dissipate the resolve of neighbors who are prepared to show up and expose this cell tower plan for the atrocity it is.
Ken Bird Park (and all our parks) should remain uncontaminated open space to be enjoyed by residents for residential purposes: children’s play, recreation for both adults and youth sports, and simple leisure activities in a safe environment.
Please join us on Feb. 4 at Crystal Lake City Hall where we will stand together to fight the commercial misuse of our public park.
