Support for programs
To the Editor:
The Lions of Crystal Lake would like to thank the people in our community for their support and participation in our various fundraising activities this past year. One hundred percent of the profits made go back into the community as eye examinations, glasses and hearing aids for people who cannot afford them. In addition, we were able to send Christmas donations to The Salvation Army, Good Samaritan Ministry, the Crystal Lake Interfaith Food Pantry, PADS, and McHenry County Police Charities.
Money raised on Candy Day in October was sent to our Lions of Illinois Foundation that offers additional programs and services such as free hearing testing, diabetic retinopathy screening and low vision screening for school children. These foundation services are available to communities throughout the state on a regular basis.
