A blizzard warning issued for this morning was canceled and replaced with a blizzard watch as another storm was expected to move in Wednesday afternoon. That, too, was canceled, although 2 to 5 inches of snow is still in the forecast by early Wednesday evening and gusts between 30 and 40 mph are possible. Although between one and three inches of snow did fall in some areas last night, there have been no reports of school closings in McHenry County. However, there are numerous reports of minor car crashes and vehicles that have gone into ditches. Nathan Marsili, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service, said that cold temperatures are on their way in. "The temperature in Dubuque [Iowa] is already only 3 degrees," he said. Temperatures are expected to drop throughout the day, holding between 0 and 5 degrees, Marsili said.
