To the Editor:

Nunda Township never gives up. This open space referendum on the April 7 ballot is up for vote for the third time, having been defeated twice before in 2004 and 2007.

While unemployment is skyrocketing, the stock market is crashing and people worry fabout finances, our leaders suggest more taxes. Some people say, but it's only a few dollars a year, what's the bug deal? I ask everyone to give me a tax number that is enough.

Our property tax increased this year even though our property value decreased. Our libraries say they can't operate on what they bring in anymore. Our fire protection districts need more money as well as our school districts. If that's not enough let's add Gov. Quinn's 4.5 percent income tax idea, up from 3 percent.

I ask again for someone to give me a number that will finally be enough.
