Quinn dismisses Blagojevich's radio comments

By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

SPRINGFIELD – Gov. Pat Quinn is dismissing the comments Rod Blagojevich made while filling in on a Chicago radio show, calling the former governor "yesterday's tomatoes."

Quinn says he tuned in for about 30 minutes of Blagojevich's show on WLS radio Wednesday morning.

During the show, Blagojevich blasted Quinn for his proposal to raise the state income tax to fix an $11.5 billion deficit.

Blagojevich was sitting in on the "Don Wade & Roma Morning Show" because the regular hosts are off this week.

Blagojevich has been out of work since January when he was kicked out of office by lawmakers after his arrest on federal corruption charges. He sounded wistful on the radio about losing his job, telling listeners he wishes he was still governor.
